You can start using telemedicine immediately on your effective date.  Applications received by the 25th of the month, will have an effective date of the 1st of the following month. Once you set up your telemedicine account, you can browse doctor profiles, view available appointment times, and schedule an appointment with the doctor of your choice. Want to go one step further? Telemedicine** is available 24 hours a day seven days a week, even on holidays. Use telemedicine anytime you have a non-emergency medical condition, are unable to see your primary care provider, or when you simply prefer a convenient cost-effective alternative to the emergency room, urgent care center, or clinic.

Telemedicine is available anywhere in the United States**. Our network of Board-Certified doctors will be provided to you based on the state you are located. We make sure that each doctor is fully licensed to practice medicine in your state.

In most cases, the monthly cost for our Telemedicine Healthcare plan is less than a cell phone or cable bill. In fact, the cost for our MOXIE Telemed plan is just $50.00 a month. It includes unlimited use for visits, prescription drug benefits, and covers your entire family. To get started, there is a one-time enrollment fee of $99.00 and consultations medical, urgent and dermatology are free moving forward. However, there may be an additional charge by our partner, (MD Live) for behavioral-health, and psychiatrist visits.

Yes. Telemedicine can be accessed on most mobile devices with an Internet connection. Our Telemedicine Mobile App is currently under development. We’re designing our app to be your medical companion online. It will be available soon for download in the iTunes Store and the Google Play Store.

Plan members will receive a pharmacy card which allows you to shop locally for your immediate need medication for as little as a $10.00 co-payment. Members also have access to our online mail-order prescription drug benefit program for even greater savings. Cost and certain drug availability is subject to change based on individual pharmacy policy.

Yes, if the Telemedicine Doctor believes medication is warranted, he or she can write a prescription and send it directly to the pharmacy of your choice. Please be aware that we do not prescribe controlled substances (e.g. narcotic medications, anxiolytics, stimulants), nor do we prescribe certain other medications (see Full list here). And finally, telemedicine does not guarantee a prescription will be written; that will be determined by the physician, based on your clinical presentation.

Confidentiality is a respected part of Telemedicine’s Code of Ethics. We take your privacy very seriously. Laws are also in place to protect your privacy. The HIPAA Privacy Rule is designed to be a minimum level of protection. Some states have even stricter laws in place to protect your personal health information. Telemedicine can share your information with your PCP in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.

To use video conferencing, you need:

A Mac running OSX 10.6 (Snow Leopard) or superior.
Highspeed internet connection
A webcam with at least 1.3 megapixels
Microphone (most webcams already have microphone built-in)

For these conditions, we suggest you see your primary care doctor, go to an urgent care center, or go to an emergency room, depending on the severity of your issue.

Emergency situations (bleeding, heart attack, suicidal thinking), Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), Urinary tract infections in males, and Urinary tract infections in and females under 18

Children
Children under 3 with a fever need to be seen immediately by a doctor in an office-based setting.
Children under 12 with ear pain can be treated if the pain is due to a virus (e.g. colds), allergies or an external infection. If there is a high likelihood it is a bacterial inner ear infection that needs antibiotics, they should be seen immediately by a doctor in an office-based setting.

Emergency situations (suicidal, homicidal, self-harm), ADHD prescription of stimulant, Active hallucinations or delusions, Substance use in active medical detox and Moderate to severe autism spectrum disorders

Note: We do not treat internationally located patients. Conditions that require laboratory or diagnostic imaging to determine final treatment recommendation without lab work present for review. Any other conditions that prohibit the patient from being able to adequately function in day to day living activities.

Any medications that MOXIE Telemed deems inappropriate and on our MOXIE Telemed restricted medications list are not provided.

Confidential results are available online in as little as 24 hours for most tests.  DirectLabs® offers our customers private and secure online accounts called “MyDLS” where you will access your orders, print your lab requisition, and retrieve your results.
